How do you boost your stream with custom twitch chat commands? Triggerfyre is the answer to making your stream super interactive for your chat. Triggerfyre gives your audience the ability to play overlaid images, sounds, and videos on top of your stream using commands, keywords, or channel points. Chat can even toggle your local OBS scenes, sources, or filters! The interface is easy to use and setup only requires a single web source in OBS.
We’ve prepared a video tour of Triggerfyre that covers all the essentials within 5 minutes so you can create a new Trigger, set it to have a !Command, and even talk about the Groups for multi-actions and randomization.
One more feature that’s not as basic for some Twitch streamers is the Point Redeem Commands. Instead of typing a name for a command, you can click the small blue circle icon next to the Command Name for “Reward Settings” so your chatters can spend Channel Points to activate these Trigger Commands. As with OBS sources, Twitch Rewards are case-sensitive so be careful to check your Twitch Channel Point Reward Names to set up these custom twitch chat commands for your Twitch stream.

Now make your own commands
Need a few ideas for your own custom Twitch commands? Try to take inspiration from your own chat and Twitch theme, or even study what’s popular. You might see a lot of gnomes and geese, or practical things like !stretch or !water to remind yourself to take breaks. You can take this free Cookie animation to feed your vtuber; just please remember to give credit to Grif in your panels, so that other streamers can find our resources too!
Another custom Twitch command to consider would be shout-out videos. Download some clips from your friends and add some flair when you edit with Capcut. You can save that as an MP4 file and add that into your Triggerfyre Videos tab, so that friends can shout-out their streams! You can also set up commands so that only certain Roles can trigger them, so you can give mods a tool to !blur the screen or !cut for use in emergencies to switch the streamer’s feed to another screen. These are helpful tools in the midst of hate raids or even just a late night/ subathon. Letting your mods have unique triggers can turn those mods into your streaming copilots!
As you wrap up a trigger command, remember to check things like delays and cooldowns, and especially volume. A new command will have a ~30 second cooldown to cut down on spam, but you can remove that if you want to encourage the opposite. Removing a cooldown can mean that your viewers can stack commands, like if you have a random frog appear to play an instrument for a few seconds. You’d want to encourage overlapping commands, so they can create a live frog band on your stream! Triggerfyre has a lot of creative potential for interactive fun, and on Patreon you can subscribe to TheFyreWire for more and more slots to create tons of hilarious effects.
